While some of your comments maybe valid , in fairness not all are correct . There is a horse festival every year in Jerez de la Frontera Spain that attracts hundreds of horses from all over Spain . Over two/three days horses both ridden and driven are paraded around concrete / tarmaced streets .
Riders all over the world ride on hard surfaces such as roads while hacking . The British hunts often have to cross / use roads at some point during the meet .
Dressage riders of advanced levels ride in a top hat , and under BD rules ( Britsih Dressage)"the hat does not have to have any hardness" , unless rding in an unaffiliated competition .
FEI federation equestre internationale , the world governing body of equestrian sports would not be involved as none of the horses or riders are registered or compete either nationaly or internationally . The WHW world horse welfare ( ILPH International league for the protection of horses as was ) is the association that protects horse welfare . The vast majority of the horses I saw appeared well fed and I saw no obvious signs of abuse , so feel even they would be hard pressed to comment . No horses were asked to jump obsticles on the hard surface nor did I personally see any performing advanced dressage moves such as passage or piaffe on the road . I am sure all the horse owners would prefer a proper areana / menage to perform in given the chance . No-one wants to harm their horse of that I am sure . Everyone is proud of the animal they either own or ride . The object of the parade is to share the joy of such a beautiful animal with as many people as care to turn up to see them .
And ps writting in capital letters is a little rude , it means you are shouting .
